Budgam, Sep 19 (KNO): Asserting that 'BSF Wular Ultra Run 3.0' is aimed at promoting fitness, positive energy and greater participation of youth in sports activities, Ashok Yadav Inspector General of the force for Kashmir Frontier on Saturday said the initiative is part of the BSF’s efforts to work closely with local communities and contribute towards the development of the region. Talking to reporters during the unveiling of the official T-shirt for the Wular Ultra Run 3.0 at BSF Headquarters Humhama, Budgam, Yadav as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said the event is being organised for the third consecutive year at Wular in Bandipora. “Our effort is to ensure maximum participation of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, while also creating awareness about Wular and promoting fitness and positive energy among the younger generation,” he said. The IG said participants coming from outside Jammu and Kashmir would also get an opportunity to learn about the region, its natural beauty and Wular Lake. “Whenever energy is channelled in a positive direction, there is less scope for it to move towards negative activities,” Yadav said, urging youngsters to focus on fitness and sports. He added that the BSF had previously organised cricket, badminton and football tournaments in the region and witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth. The BSF Wular Ultra Run 3.0 is scheduled to be held on October 4, 2026, at Wular Lake, and is expected to witness participation from athletes and fitness enthusiasts from Jammu and Kashmir as well as other parts of the country—(KNO)
